War Prevention Initiative at 2018 Peace and Security Funders Group Federal Policy Briefing

Early March 2018 the Peace and Security Funders Group (PSFG) convened the Federal Policy Briefing in Washington, D.C. to hear from policymakers and leading experts and advocates about the political environment and opportunities for advancing peace and security issues.

War Prevention Initiative Executive Director Patrick Hiller participated in this event to engage with colleagues and policymakers on educational activities on viable alternatives to militaristic responses to current foreign policy issues.

PSFG writes:

Participants heard from non-governmental (NGO) experts representing organizations who focus on a wide range of peace and security issues, senior staff from both the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, and from an Executive Branch official from the National Security Council. Over 30 PSFG members met with 19 different Senate and House offices on six critical issues, including North Korea and Iran, defense and the Pentagon, and gender and conflict.
